Master Plan

The development of the area over the next ten to fifteen years is outlined in the comprehensive long-term plan known as the Lorong 1 Toa Payoh Master Plan. The goal of the plan is to build a thriving, environmentally conscious, inclusive, and sustainable community.

The Orie Master Plan's Main goals are


Boost connectivity: Boost the area's and the surrounding neighbourhoods' pedestrian and bicycle connectivity.

Increase the number of green spaces in the vicinity, such as parks, gardens, and streets lined with trees.

Rejuvenate the deteriorating infrastructure: Modernise the public lighting, roads, and drains in the area.

Preserve the local history: Guard the historic structures and distinctive features of the community.

Encourage the development of mixed-use areas by pushing for a combination of retail, commercial, and residential spaces.

Some specific projects that are included in the Lorong 1 Toa Payoh Master Plan

  1. The creation of a new linear park along Lorong 1 Toa Payoh.
  2. The upgrading of Braddell MRT Station to make it more accessible and user-friendly.
  3. The development of a new mixed-use development at the former Police Security Command Building site.
  4. The revitalization of the Lorong 1 shophouse area.


The Lorong 1 Toa Payoh Master Plan is expected to have a number of positive benefits for the area, including

  1. Improved quality of life for residents: The plan will create a more livable and enjoyable environment for residents.
  2. Increased property values: The plan is expected to make the area more attractive to businesses and residents, which could lead to an increase in property values.
